World War II is represented in the U.S. as a “Good War,” a war in which Allied powers, especially Americans, were the good guys fighting the incomprehensible evil of Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan to save others. "War, What is it Good For? World War 2 on Film" is a college class's collaborative effort examining popular World War 2 movies in relation to this "Good War" myth. The podcast discusses how each film stands on its own to contribute to or subvert this popular cultural idea.
