A new history podcast for my ears with a glimpse through the lens of the things we eat and drink - including how Hitler's desire for margarine lead to the Nazi's trying to lay claim to part of Antarctica and how coffee got some people totes beheaded (eeek!) . The one that sticks with me is how Italian American families coped with a very anti-Italian racist sentiment by way of a New York Yankee baseball player went gut to gut in a competitive food challenge against ... and ostrich. Nick is a great storyteller, calm, informative, and a perfect guide through history with food as a cornerstone. Must listen :)
