Hurricane Milton has been downgraded to a Category 3 storm as it continues to inch closer to landfall on Florida's west coast.

Milton is likely to be right near the threshold of a major hurricane when it reaches the west-central coast of Florida on Wednesday evening.

As of 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Hurricane Milton was located at 27.2N and 82.8W, which is 20 miles west-southwest of Sarasota.

It had maximum sustained winds of 120 miles per hour and was moving east-northeast at 15 miles per hour.
