Tejana is a dark and dense western dealing with modern issues. Stephanie Beatriz gives a little of Rosa Diaz (from B-99) to this role, but gives the detective a more vulnerable characteristic. Each case is even more stimulating than the other, and the climax is amazing.

Great characters, interesting stories, top notch production quality, just the right length.

I love how it played out like a T.V. show. I hope season 2 comes soon.

Stephanie Beatriz returns to police procedurals. This time, she's a Latina Texas Ranger trying to solve various crimes, often crimes that end up having racial and political elements to them, which leave her feeling damned if you do, damned if you don't. I've only ever watched Beatriz as Rosa Diaz before, so her character here, who's gentler and less self assured, makes for an interesting departure. It's standard procedural fare but Beatriz's charisma does hold the attention.
