Amanda Erin Miller always has multiple writing projects going at once, from theater pieces to essays to short stories, and for the last four years or so a novel has existed in that rotation. Admittedly she hasn't been consistent with her work on it because writing a novel is hard. It's also crazy. But Amanda is a person who finishes what she starts so this novel will get done even if it takes her 10 more years! (She hopes to Holy Heaven it will not take 10 more years.) She says this with the knowledge that even upon completion of the book, there is no guarantee that anyone will read it besides her writing group, The Ponies. She has the plot points of the story in her head, each one a goal post to be reached. The story feels important and necessary for her to extricate from her soul and to offer to anyone who might be open to receiving it. Still every time she thinks about this novel writing endeavor, she can't help but shake her head at the sheer insanity of the undertaking. Amanda has concluded that someone who attempts this has to have something (or multiple things) wrong with them. She is curious about the inner workings of other humans who attempt this gargantuan feat. Thus, the idea for the So You’re A Novelist: What’s Wrong With You? podcast was born. Episodes will be released on the 1st of the month. To find out more about Amanda, visit www.onebreaththenanother.com.
