Kimberly Seals Allers is a journalist, author, speaker, and advocate for maternal and infant health. Her work focuses on birth, breastfeeding, and motherhood, and the intersection of race, policy, and culture. Currently, she is the editorial director of the Maternal and Child Health Communication Collective.Seals Allers was a senior editor at Essence magazine and a writer at Fortune magazine. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, and Slate. She was an international business journalist and Wall Street columnist.Seales Allers has written five books. Her first book, Her first book, "The Mocha Manual to a Fabulous Pregnancy," was published in 2005.Seals Allers founded MochaManual.com, a pregnancy and parenting site for African Americans. She has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, Anderson Cooper, the Tom Joyner Morning Show, and Fox News.Seals Allers received her undergraduate degree from New York University and her M.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
