Social justice never looked so sexy! On the show, this week is the directing and writing duo, Tansy Gorman and Flick.
Queer, outer space and female empowerment are all phrases that could describe the show we are chatting about today! We are out-of-this-world excited to introduce Tansy Gorman and Flick for Scene 33 of the Play Haus. A writer and director duo, Flick and Tansy are the masterminds behind the Melbourne Fringe production 'SLUTNIK™' and they are both completing a Masters course in Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).
Scene 33 unravels Flick and Tansy as they walk us through their processes of creating a production that celebrates queerness, women and of course glitter! Flick talks us through their process as a writer while Tansy gives us her perspective on what it means to be a director. Collaboration is key for these two powerhouses and Flick and Tansy explain the importance of kind feedback, honesty and leaving your ego at the door. We also learn about post-dramatic theatre and the process of dramaturgy within a university context. You can expect laughter, advice and a lot of interesting conversations with two people at the forefront of their industry.
