Pen and Paper Podcast is the result of a collaboration between Harris County Department of Education and Yawp Records, creator of the Just Add Beats Audio Production After School Program. Students are taught how to use digital audio production hardware and software to record their own podcasts, music, and sound effects that can be digitally distributed worldwide. They build 21st-Century Skills like creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication that will serve them in the future where they will have to be collaborative and resilient creators, learning new technical skills and working with new people. Digital storytelling and distribution give the students the opportunity to share their personal stories with a broader audience than ever before, and the chance to document their lives and the world around them in a way that can be revisited.
