Today's stories include my preview of Dragon Ball's

0:02

Sparking Zero, what we want from the next

0:04

summer game fest, and Prince of Persia is

0:07

finally coming to Steam. We'll have all this

0:09

and more because this is Kind of Funny

0:11

Games Daily. Yo,

0:14

what's up? Welcome

0:21

to Kind of Funny Games Daily for Thursday, June

0:23

13, 2024. I'm

0:25

one of your hosts, Blessings. Daddy O.A. Junior joining

0:27

me is the master of hype. Snow bike, Mike.

0:30

What up, Bless. Thanks for having me. Nice to see

0:33

you. Nice to see you too. A little low

0:35

energy today. We're going to get high energy today. We're talking about

0:37

Dragon Ball. Hey. So I need

0:39

you to bring the fucking hype. We're going to

0:41

turn up in just a minute, but you know,

0:43

hello. Good morning, everyone watching and listening out there.

0:45

Nice to be back at the K of GD

0:47

desk. Congratulations to you. Of course. Give

0:49

it to me. Give it to me.

0:52

You've beaten Sekiro Shadows Die twice. Give it to me

0:54

again. I'm the shadow. Ladies and

0:56

gentlemen, I'm the shadow. Yeah, bless. Thank you.

0:58

I have officially beaten Sekiro Shadows Die twice.

1:00

It was my first ever play through and

1:02

it was a lot of fun. How good

1:04

is that? It's so fucking good, isn't it?

1:07

Blessings you ready? I'm going to give you the official

1:09

ranking. Give me the official ranking. Sekiro

1:11

Shadows Die twice. Number one

1:14

on my From Software games. No.

1:16

Come on. That's five inches over

1:18

in two minutes of the show. Sekiro

1:22

Elden Ring. You know,

1:24

I'm replaying them, right? So, you know, a lot

1:26

of people are going to be like, well, where's

1:28

Bloodborne, right? But like, you know, Bloodborne hasn't been

1:30

played yet in my replay. So it'll be Sekiro.

1:33

Then it will go Elden Ring. Then Dark

1:35

Souls 2, Dark Souls 1. Everything

1:38

else is still I'm replaying. I love that for you.

1:40

That's the official ranking right now. I love that for

1:42

you. Sekiro just has the most fun combat. It's

1:45

that deflection and parry system that gets

1:47

you to feel the rhythm and really

1:49

take a deep breath and follow. Like,

1:52

just follow the pacing of the fight that

1:54

I really love. I don't feel that as

1:56

much in the Dark Souls games. I feel

1:58

like the parry system. is very much

2:00

like you parry once and it's like that big

2:03

moment and then you get them. But like in

2:05

this, it's very much like deflect, deflect, deflect, deflect,

2:07

big parry and then you're in which is

2:10

cool, I like that a lot. I really

2:12

hope FromSoft continues to explore, right? They've done

2:14

such a good job with like, hey, we

2:16

just put out Elden Ring, now let's put

2:18

out Armored Core Six and make something that's

2:20

way more fast paced and way more actiony.

2:22

I hope they continue to serve both sides

2:24

of what action can be because obviously they're

2:27

fucking talented over there. And yeah, like

2:29

the pioneer, the Souls games were then

2:31

to go, all right, let's make like

2:33

a quicker one with Sekiro or let's

2:35

go super big action, fast action with

2:38

Armored Core. I like seeing both sides of them.

2:40

They fucking do such a good job when it

2:42

is even outside of the Souls genre. I love

2:44

that studio so much. It's truly incredible what they've

2:46

done, Bless, and all the fun, you know, spreading

2:50

out their wings like you said. I mean, I

2:52

think of that game, just the beauty of it,

2:54

the speed of it, it's just a really good

2:56

time. And the story, like you said, like, you

2:58

know, I did get the good ending, shout out

3:00

to the chat for helping me. So like, you

3:02

know, there is a big moment of like, okay,

3:04

well, we could do a sequel here, what's the

3:06

deal, you know? And so I hope one day

3:08

we do get a sequel. And you beat Demon

3:10

of Hatred. I beat that guy. You know what

3:12

I mean? It took me a couple of tries, you know, him

3:15

and the last boss probably might

3:17

have been my hardest bosses, maybe the

3:20

seventh spear, but like I beat the

3:22

Guardian Ape within like five or 10.

3:25

Everybody was within a window of like five to 10. And

3:28

I really found something. And like, you know,

3:30

as much as I want to say like, I'm

3:32

the goat and I was killing it, I definitely

3:34

want to just chalk it up to probably pure

3:36

blind luck bless, because I had the parry button

3:38

on the back panel and I just spammed that

3:40

all the time. Yeah, that's how you got to

3:42

do it chat. Hell yeah Mike. Well, enough about

3:45

that. Let's talk about today's stories. Because remember, this

3:47

is kind of Funny Games Daily. Each and a

3:49

week day we run you through the nerdy news

3:51

and needs to know about live on YouTube, Twitch,

3:53

3:55

3:57

4:08

4:10

4:12

person business all about live talk shows. Today,

4:14

after kind of funny games daily, you're gonna

4:16

get Gamescast, which is more of our impressions

4:18

from Summer Game Fest, including Sonic X Shadows

4:20

Generations, Metaphor Re-Fantasio, and probably a little bit

4:23

more of Dragon Ball, Sparking Zero, even though

4:25

I'm gonna talk a lot about it today.

4:29

Like, let me tell you, I got so much to say about this game, Mike.

4:32

And then the stream after that is gonna be some Fallout 76

4:34

with Greg, Joey, and Snowbike Mike. Come back

4:36

into the new expansion, a lot of fun.

4:39

I will say, I see you guys, I'll

4:41

have you guys pulled up just on another tab or I'll see you on the

4:44

TV out there. And I'm like, I get a little bit of FOMO. Cause

4:46

I love Fallout, but I didn't enjoy Fallout 76 that much.

4:48

But then I look and I'm like, oh, but they're having

4:50

so much fun. You

4:53

come join us, bless, we'll have fun with you. Yeah,

4:55

probably not, but you know, it looks fun. If

4:57

you're a kind of funny member, you can get today's Greg way, which

5:01

is can there ever be too much Snowbike Mike? Well,

5:03

if you ask Roger, he'll say, hell

5:05

yeah, there's too much Snowbike Mike all the time. I'll also go

5:07

ahead and say yes. I'm gonna put my hands on the board

5:09

and say yes. In my world, I say there's never enough. You

5:11

know what I mean? Let me just be with you all the

5:13

time. Of course. Thank you to our Patreon producers,

5:15

Kieran Hovisapian, Carl Jacobs, Froggel Brady

5:18

and Delaney Twining. Today we're brought to you

5:20

by BetterHelp, but we'll tell you about that later. For

5:22

now, let's begin with what is, and

5:24

forever will be, the Roper Report. The

5:26

Roper Report. It's time

5:28

for some news. We

5:31

have six stories today.

5:34

Baker's Dozen.

5:38

Starting with our number one, Mike,

5:41

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero reveals

5:43

what if stories, custom battle

5:45

and limited local multiplayer. This

5:48

is Robert Ramsey at Push Square. I should also mention

5:50

that the preview embargo is up for Dragon Ball Sparking

5:52

Zero. And so there are previews up out there. I

5:54

almost put together a preview roundup, but as I put

5:56

together this story, I was like, yo, fuck it. You

5:58

know, I'll just give you my. impressions because I

6:01

got all the shit to say. That's what you're

6:04

here for. That's what I'm here for. So let

6:06

me read these details of like new features and

6:08

then we'll get into my preview of it. So

6:10

reading from Robert Ramsey at Push Square, Bay 9

6:13

Namco has released a new trailer for Dragon Ball

6:15

Sparking Zero, which covers the game's various modes. It

6:17

sounds like it's going to be a pretty big

6:19

game, boasting a lot of single player stuff alongside

6:22

an obviously massive roster of playable characters. As you'd

6:24

expect, there's a story mode of sorts, split across

6:26

eight main characters, the so-called episode battle, as you

6:28

fight through key moments from the Dragon Ball Z

6:31

and Dragon Ball Super storylines with the

6:33

action taking place between full cutscenes. However,

6:35

the twist is that you can actually

6:37

make decisions during these scenes that change

6:39

how Dragon Ball timelines pan out. For

6:42

example, as Goku, you can choose to

6:44

chase after Raditz alone. There's even

6:46

a clip in this trailer that shows Goku going Super

6:48

Saiyan when he's up against Great Ape Vegeta. Let me

6:51

tell you, Mike, that doesn't happen in the

6:53

show. Oh, okay. Yeah, he doesn't go Super Saiyan until fighting

6:55

Frieza. So that's different. Okay.

6:57

Next up is Custom Battle, which

6:59

houses original scenarios. What's more, you

7:02

can create your own scenarios complete

7:04

with cutscenes, customizing things like player

7:06

characters, opponents, stages, and

7:08

even gameplay details like damage scaling and

7:10

special conditions. Once you're done, you can

7:13

upload your scenarios online for other players

7:15

to download and hopefully enjoy. It sounds

7:17

really cool. However, it turns out that

7:19

there is one downside to Zero looking

7:22

so graphically impressive. We've got

7:24

confirmation that the game does have local

7:26

multiplayer, but it's limited to just one

7:29

stage, the hyperbolic time chamber. A real

7:31

shame, but at least it splits. At

7:33

least it splits green versus hasn't been

7:36

removed entirely. Mike, okay,

7:38

you're one of the anime poppies here. I love

7:40

anime. Kind of funny. What's your experience with Dragon

7:42

Ball? It's my biggest blind spot right here. I've

7:44

never seen a Dragon Ball episode. One

7:47

shout cast at a Dragon Ball tournament on my

7:49

Twitch channel. I made up everybody's name because I

7:51

didn't know who they were. Shout out to Android

7:53

13. I believe that's a character. And

7:56

so, yeah, no, this is all new and

7:58

unfamiliar to me. So I'm gonna... Excited for

8:00

you to tell me about it. I watched the

8:02

trailers. I read Ryan McCaffrey's preview and they all

8:05

seem pretty high on this. So is this a

8:07

3D fighter? We

8:09

just run around like we'll call just a giant

8:11

dome essentially. Yeah. And just like a 3D arena

8:14

fighter. OK.

8:16

OK. Yeah. And I would say so

8:19

I'm somebody who played a lot of Dragon Ball

8:21

Z games on PS2, played

8:23

through all the booty games, played all the

8:25

tank. I each games. Tank I.T. was, I'll

8:27

say, one of the if not maybe the

8:30

pioneer for like 3D anime fighters,

8:32

which became a lot more popular since then.

8:34

We have like the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm

8:36

games that are super popular with people. You

8:38

have like Jump Force, which which came out.

8:41

Yeah, my grandmother Justice also came out. And

8:43

that's the thing with these games is that

8:45

a lot of them aren't beloved. Right. A

8:47

lot of them aren't the highest

8:49

quality video games. And it feels like it. I

8:51

feel like at a certain point, there's this turn

8:54

to almost like a

8:56

shovelware feeling to these things. Oh, you

8:58

want to make an anime game? Just make it an

9:00

arena fighter and put it out and people will will

9:02

eat it up. Right. And like people,

9:04

there's a reason why being a damn co-keeps

9:06

making these things, right? Like people buy them

9:09

and people will like have fun with them.

9:11

And they made like a million Naruto Ultimate

9:13

Ninja Storm games. But there has been, I

9:15

think, a lack of passion around this genre

9:17

of games from the community. And it wasn't

9:20

always like that. I think Tankaichi is the

9:22

example of no, people love the Tankaichi games.

9:24

People love having this enormous roster of characters

9:26

to choose from. I so

9:29

I got for this preview, I got to play about 30 minutes

9:31

or so of Dragon Ball, Sparking

9:33

Zero. And I while

9:35

playing it had an epiphany as

9:38

I was playing it. I was thinking about why

9:40

I was enjoying my time with it so much,

9:42

because I really, really, really enjoyed playing it during

9:44

this preview in the way that I enjoyed playing

9:47

the tank games as a kid. And

9:50

what I realized is that for me,

9:52

the Dragon Ball, Tankaichi games are

9:54

to Dragon Ball fans and even anime

9:56

fans. What the WWE

9:58

games are to rest. where

10:01

it is really, when it comes down to it,

10:03

it's about taking action figures and

10:05

making them fight each other, right? Banging action

10:08

figures against each other. This is not Dragon

10:10

Ball fighters. This is not Street Fighter. It's

10:12

not Tekken. I'm not jumping into this game

10:14

for like the technical mastery of how good

10:16

the fighting systems are. I like,

10:18

when my list of complaints for this

10:21

game, it's all

10:23

the same complaints that I had from playing the ones growing up,

10:25

right? The camera can get super

10:27

wonky. There's like awkward positioning

10:30

because you're playing, you're fighting, you're having characters fight

10:32

that are flying all over the place. So it's

10:34

really hard to kind of like find positioning a

10:36

lot of the time. I

10:38

think there's like, I don't know if I trust

10:41

the character balancing in this one as far as

10:43

like, when you have 80 characters,

10:45

100 characters, however many characters they're gonna be in this

10:47

thing, let alone like some of the characters are giant

10:50

apes, Mike. You know, I don't,

10:52

I was able to choose one of the great

10:54

apes. I don't know if I

10:56

trust all the match ups and balancing and

10:58

all that shit. When it comes down to it though,

11:00

that shit doesn't really matter for

11:03

I would say the fan base of this game.

11:06

What the fan base wants is to come in

11:08

and feel like they're having that action figure type

11:11

moments, right? Almost like the ultimate battle simulator where

11:13

I just put a thousand gooses against the thousand.

11:15

It's like, I'm just having fun with my little

11:17

sandbox. Exactly. One of the things that you can

11:20

do in this game, Mike, is like, you

11:22

can obviously, if you're watching the video version,

11:24

you're saying Goku fighting Vegeta, you could have

11:27

like up to five characters

11:29

on your team. Oh, really? Yeah, it's like a

11:31

tag team scenario where you can do five V

11:33

five, you can do three V three, however, whatever

11:35

number you want, three V two, whatever numbers you

11:38

want. And so the thing that I enjoyed

11:40

so much, and this is the thing that the

11:43

previous games had as well, is like, not

11:45

even just, all right, let's make Goku

11:47

fight Tien. No, it is, let's

11:49

do, you know, Saiyans versus the

11:52

Freezer race. Let's do, you know,

11:54

what if future trunks

11:56

and team Gohan and Goten teamed

11:58

up against. and

12:00

Piccolo and Vegeta, it is creating these like dream

12:03

match ups and like having them play out in

12:05

a way that is fun in a way that

12:07

is engaging. Cause like, even though I listed those

12:09

complaints as far as gameplay, it's still a fun

12:11

time, right? Like if you're not thinking about it

12:14

as far as like a how

12:16

balanced it is, how fair it is, how all this stuff is.

12:18

Right? Taking like

12:20

finding a moment to charge up so that I

12:23

can build up my, my key gauge so that

12:25

I can use my kami and

12:27

like have that moment of, oh, I'm going to

12:29

end this all on an ultimate. For me, that

12:31

stuff is fun and it really resonates here. It

12:33

feels like going back in time and playing the

12:35

games that I love. It also

12:38

looks fantastic. You know, the visuals are

12:40

have so much flair to them. It,

12:42

they give me that level of anime,

12:44

Dragon Ball Z, everything is charged up. Everything is

12:47

raised up to 11 type feeling that I want

12:49

out of this thing. And when

12:51

I talk about the, you know, fan service

12:54

nature of it, I think the thing that really

12:56

hit it home for me was in the Dragon

12:58

Ball and pretty much any Dragon Ball Z fighting

13:00

game, there's always like the world tournament stage. And

13:02

Mike, for you as somebody who watches the anime, Barrett, for you as somebody

13:04

who watches a lot of anime, right? Like

13:07

you all, you both have seen the animes

13:09

that have the like tournament sagas. Every tournament.

13:11

The anime has a tournament saga. Gotta have

13:13

one. It's lit. Dragon Ball Z has quite

13:15

a few tournament sagas, right? And like in

13:17

all the games, there's always like the world

13:19

tournament stage. And like the rule technically, the

13:21

rule typically is when you touch

13:23

the ground outside of the ring, that is an automatic

13:25

out and you lose. And in Tenkaichi, I remember that

13:27

being like a fuck man. This is really easy to

13:29

get a ring out here. Usually

13:32

that's how they go, right? You know what to expect. And

13:34

so automatically in this preview, I was like, well, I gotta

13:36

try out the world tournament stage. So I go there and

13:38

I'm fighting and it's like, I'm playing as I

13:41

think trunks and I'm fighting Vegeta probably. And

13:43

you know, the fight's going and

13:46

I charge up all the way. Right?

13:49

Like there's like a full charge that you can do, which allows you to

13:51

use your ultimate move. I charge up all

13:53

the way. I use my ultimate move. And

13:55

as that cut scene starts, there's

13:57

a new cut scene that plays that like. Like

14:00

it cuts off halfway and the

14:02

camera cuts to the tournament announcer and the tournament

14:04

announcer is like, oh no, like this place is

14:06

about to blow. Like we all gotta go. And

14:08

so a cut scene then plays of the audience

14:10

all running out of the tournament stage to clear

14:13

out because shit is about to pop off. And

14:15

then it comes, it cuts back to the rest

14:17

of my cut scene of me using my ultimate.

14:19

That's cool. Yeah. And like, I destroy part of

14:21

the, part of the world tournament stage. And then

14:23

like all of a sudden I can fight in

14:25

the stands. Like we take the fight into the

14:28

stands. We're standing in there fighting. And not only

14:30

can we stand, can we fight in the stands?

14:32

We can now fight like outside of the world

14:34

tournament arena. So like we start flying and then

14:36

like you're flying around the arena. And when I

14:38

tell you that was such a moment of, this

14:41

is fucking cool. Like this is so fucking awesome.

14:43

I've not even thought about the fact that you

14:45

could do it this way. I

14:47

had such a fun time with that. I think, you

14:49

know, on a gameplay level is working for me. It's

14:51

bringing me back to the Dragon Ball Z tank I

14:53

choose and I loved. Well, a couple

14:56

more things I want to shout out. This is, I read this in a

14:58

preview, right? Oh, also I want to

15:00

mention the first thing they said, cause I was,

15:02

my first appointment of Summer Game Fest was this.

15:04

Oh, way to start off the day, really energized.

15:06

Yeah. And the person giving the presentation was like,

15:08

Hey, since you guys are the first group, you

15:10

guys are some of the first people in the

15:12

West outside of the company, outside of Bandai to

15:14

get their hands on the game. That's it. I

15:16

felt so fucking cool. That's really cool, bless. So

15:18

fucking cool. But

15:20

they talked about episode battle and custom battle.

15:23

Like the article mentioned, episode battle is essentially

15:25

like a story mode where you can play

15:27

through, they said eight different characters and they

15:29

have like their major moments in the story

15:31

that they're playing through. You can make choices

15:33

in certain moments to like have like a

15:35

different timeline play out. And so the one

15:37

that they talked about in the presentation that's

15:39

also referenced here in the article is that

15:43

they're like very beginning of Dragon Ball Z,

15:45

Raditz comes through and is like causing a ruckus.

15:48

And what happens is I like Goku and Piccolo

15:50

go and fight Raditz and take out Raditz, the

15:52

whole thing. You can

15:54

make the choice to not go with Piccolo. You can

15:56

go fight Raditz solo. And I don't know what happens

15:58

when you do that. I feel like that is a

16:00

choice that you. that's going to change how the story

16:02

plays out, which I like. I think that stuff is

16:04

interesting. These what if moments. And these cut scenes, are

16:06

they ripped from the anime that you would normally watch?

16:08

Are they, you know, now they're clearly making their own.

16:10

Are they 90 seconds, five minutes? What does it really

16:12

look like? I didn't get a vibe for how long

16:14

they are, but they're not like ripped from the anime.

16:16

I mean, they're recreated in engine in like what you're

16:18

seeing here. On that,

16:20

I do want to shout out too for

16:22

how the cut scenes are, right? There's one famous

16:25

scene from Dragon Ball. Again, I think this episode, in

16:27

the first few episodes of Dragon Ball Z, where Piccolo

16:30

and Goku are fighting radits. Goku

16:33

has to like kind of get radits in like

16:35

this full Nelson headlock sort of thing to keep

16:37

him still so that Piccolo can use his special

16:40

beam cannon. I sound like a crazy person. That's

16:42

crazy. But Piccolo is using his special beam cannon.

16:44

And it like goes through both radits and Goku

16:46

and takes them both out. And like that's how

16:48

they defeat radits, but also Goku dies because of

16:51

it. They played that scene. And

16:54

you can press a button to go first person as Goku,

16:56

because you're playing as Goku in that scene. So

16:59

you can experience this like Piccolo's special

17:01

beam cannon from Goku's perspective as it

17:03

goes through. And you can do the first

17:05

person. I believe they said like whenever you want during the cut

17:07

scene. I don't know if you remember, like they kind of had

17:09

that similar thing in Metal Gear Solid 3, where

17:11

like you can press L1, you can see certain things

17:13

from a snake's perspective. It kind of seemed like that.

17:15

And I thought that was very neat. This is an

17:18

extra thing they added. Yeah,

17:20

that I thought was awesome. And then there's custom

17:22

battle, which is basically these

17:25

scenarios that are created by the developers. Hey, it's

17:27

kind of like what I talked about earlier with

17:29

like these dream fights. Yes, of course. Oh, yeah,

17:31

let's do the parents versus the children.

17:34

Let's do the evil Saiyans versus the good Saiyans

17:36

or whatever it is. You can create whatever scenario

17:38

you want. They have like a bunch of fun

17:40

ones made by the developers. But then also as

17:43

players, you can come through and customize your

17:45

own scenarios. And as they're going through and

17:47

like showing the different options, it

17:49

seemed pretty extensive what you can

17:51

do. And you can upload your scenarios online. Say

17:53

how easy was it to upload that? For

17:56

you to be like, oh, Mike, I made this really

17:58

cool one. You can go play it here. Did

18:00

they show you what it looked like? They didn't show me,

18:02

they didn't show like the full, like, oh, this is how

18:04

it's like searching through them. But they did say that you

18:06

can do that. You can make your own scenarios, upload them

18:08

online. Other people can play them. And you

18:11

can also customize, like,

18:13

pre-fight cut scenes and like win conditions and all

18:15

these things. And so you can create like your

18:17

own mini story if you want to. It's kind

18:20

of cool. Yeah, yeah. It's super cool.

18:23

as far as what Dragon Ball

18:25

Sparking Super is and what the Dragon

18:27

Ball 10 kaiichi games were. It's not

18:31

about the fighting game mechanics and how fun it is

18:33

to fight. Obviously, like, I don't think this game's gonna

18:35

get 10 out of 10s

18:37

at all, because it's not gonna be like

18:39

a fucking solid ass fighting game. But again,

18:41

what it is is it's WWE. It is

18:43

you role-playing these characters. It is you making

18:46

these dream fight scenarios. It is you sharing

18:48

these custom battles with your friends and going,

18:50

hey, watch Goku fight Videl

18:52

or whatever it is. That's sweet. I like

18:55

this, bless. I like that a lot. What

18:57

about like the stages? I saw Ryan McCaffrey

18:59

in his report was there's like half, more

19:01

than half a dozen stages. Were they all

19:04

iconic locations that you remembered? Are they kind

19:06

of just base, hey, this is a generic

19:08

looking desert. Also, you know, destructible environments. I

19:10

saw a bunch of cliffs for being beaten

19:13

down. What does that look like? I mean,

19:15

there's always gonna be destructible environments. I love

19:17

that stuff. As far as the stages, it's

19:19

what you'd expect if you played a Dragon

19:22

Ball Z. You say like generic looking desert.

19:25

Dragon Ball Z games always have grassland

19:27

stage. Okay, okay. Like wasteland, like this

19:29

kind of like this, yeah, kind of

19:32

rocky desert kind of stage you're looking

19:34

at. There's always Namek. There's always hyperbolic

19:37

time chamber. And these are sort of

19:39

like the standard because like, you

19:42

know, wasteland or like this stage you're looking at,

19:44

right? Every Dragon Ball fight I've seen is at

19:47

a place like this. It looks like this. Yeah, and

19:49

that's the thing is like, I can't- I'm fighting in

19:51

the Grand Canyon. It is a generic location, but at

19:53

the same time, the anime takes place in generic locations

19:56

like this. So I can't get mad at it. You

19:58

are probably gonna get Cell games, Iconic when you're gonna

20:00

get the iconic stages. Okay. I brought a time chamber

20:02

is an iconic one Even though it's just a middle

20:04

of nowhere kind of stage. Okay, which is why they're

20:07

doing split screen there nowhere else But

20:09

yeah, you're gonna get the iconic stage role

20:12

tournament sell games planet. Namek Destroyed namek you're

20:14

gonna get that stuff But yeah, you're gonna

20:16

have a handful of stages I look like

20:18

this as well because that also is it's

20:21

accurate to Dragon Ball. How many fighters I

20:24

Didn't get all the iconic ones that you would want

20:27

Yeah I mean the we only had a they

20:29

obviously didn't have every single fighter available to us

20:31

the ones that we that I saw were a

20:33

Lot of the obvious ones and like some of

20:35

the ones that I'm not I didn't watch super

20:37

and I'm not I'm so not privy To what

20:40

goes on in super. Yeah, but like there's some

20:42

characters from there, right? There's the fucking cat

20:44

guy That

20:47

purple cat man There's

20:49

like gold Frieza. Okay There's

20:52

like, you know super saying God Goku and all

20:54

this stuff, right? So like you have those ones

20:57

I swear to God there's like fucking ten different versions

20:59

of Goku Every

21:02

single like Saiyan version of like these characters So

21:04

like I could choose any of those in the

21:06

final game though It seems like there's gonna be

21:08

a lot ten kaiichi is known to have a

21:10

lot of characters Okay, and so you're gonna have

21:12

a dumb amount of characters in this

21:15

game and for the ones that been announced already I'm

21:17

I've been happy with the trailers You got me really

21:19

excited about this game bless as someone who has never

21:21

played one of these 3d fighters and

21:23

also not a big Dragon Ball guy I love

21:25

the idea of having the sandbox like you said

21:28

with WWE right? It's the sandbox that I get

21:30

to put my toys in and create my dream

21:32

Scenarios and ultimate fights in which is pretty cool.

21:34

That sounds awesome and the cutscenes I really love

21:37

the awesome dynamic cutscenes of what they create. Here's

21:39

the thing I would love for you to enter

21:41

your snowback Mike Dragon Ball Z era. I think

21:43

this game might be the perfect one I

21:46

think this game might be the perfect moment. I think when this game

21:48

comes out when he finishes one piece, you know He's

21:50

never gonna finish. I'm on an epic adventure. I'm

21:53

buying books. Jesus Christ. I think you

21:55

should use this game as an opportunity I think when

21:57

Dragon Ball is okay parking zero comes out. You should

21:59

play alongside watching it. Okay.

22:01

Ooh, that's a great idea. I will tell you

22:03

like my, I got all of my Dragon Ball

22:05

Z knowledge from playing video games. I played the

22:07

video games more than I watched the anime. Cool.

22:09

Yeah. Like I, I, Dragon

22:11

Ball Z to me is like when the, how the

22:13

Bible has different interpretations, you know, like they got the

22:15

message version, they got the King James version, they got the

22:17

new international version. They got Elden Ring. They got Elden Ring.

22:19

For me, that's what Dragon Ball Z is where I'm

22:21

like, I got the Buddha Kai one version, I got

22:24

the Buddha Kai two version, I got the Raging Blast

22:26

version, but yeah, you should, I

22:28

think you could get into it. Okay. Before we get

22:30

out of this, give me the details though. What's it

22:33

coming to? What's the date? Do

22:35

you know any of the console details in the date at all?

22:37

Yeah. I mean, they announced that stuff off the top of my

22:39

head. It's coming everywhere. Okay. I, they

22:41

announced the date. It's the same day as

22:43

Metal, this metaphor, Re-Fantasical. So September 11th. Okay.

22:46

I believe it is. I can look up here

22:48

to see all the accurate consoles, but it's coming

22:50

to everywhere you think it is. Okay. Cool. Yeah.

22:53

There's just something Greg put on me last time

22:55

we did previews of like, oh yeah, where's it

22:57

coming? So I remembered. Yeah. Dragon Ball Sparking zero.

22:59

It is coming to PlayStation five,

23:01

Xbox series, X and S and PC. Okay.

23:04

And initially it says October. Oh no, it's October

23:06

11th. October 11th. Okay. There

23:08

you go. And that is my Dragon Ball

23:10

Sparking zero preview for you.

23:13

Sounds hype. Bless. That's lit. I'm I'm glancing

23:15

at the super chat to see if anybody

23:17

wrote. Everybody want to ask any questions. Yeah.

23:19

There's one here from Blue Knight Jedi that

23:21

says, bless tell us old folks, does the

23:23

soundtrack slap as hard as the original Buddha

23:26

Kai two. I got a promotion

23:28

at work, so I look forward to supporting KF

23:30

more in the future. I will

23:32

say I didn't get a, I didn't get to have enough

23:34

time with it to really get a grasp of like how

23:36

good the soundtrack is. I will say that there is a

23:38

separate menu that has like a bunch of soundtrack songs that

23:41

you can pick for each stage. Oh,

23:43

that's cool. So you can play whatever song you want on

23:46

whatever stage you want. So what's that blend? The

23:48

sound effects of me punching and doing all the

23:50

moves to the music. Is it a nice blend?

23:52

It's a nice blend. Yeah. Okay. Like you're going

23:54

to hear like all you're going to hear the

23:56

anime sounds of like how it's the

23:58

drive. It's like the, they pulled the sound. out of

24:00

the Dragon Ball Z cartoon, right? It

24:02

sounds like DBZ when you have the punches and

24:05

the kicks and the blasts and all that stuff.

24:07

But then you have pretty high energy music in

24:09

the background, but they're not drowning each other out.

24:12

Is Dragon Ball known for dope music? Oh

24:14

yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. Huh?

24:18

Mike, of course, I got to

24:20

preview that at Summer Game Fest. Yes. Let's

24:22

continue talking about Summer Game Fest. I love

24:24

it. Story number two, Summer Game Fest will

24:26

return. This is according to Jeff Keeley on

24:28

Twitter. He says, we're thrilled to announce

24:30

that Summer Game Fest will return to Los Angeles in

24:32

June 2025, including play

24:34

days from I Am 8-Bit and a

24:36

livestream showcase event that fans can attend.

24:38

Together with the industry, we will continue

24:41

to build what's next. Of course, not

24:43

a surprise. We've seen Summer Game Fest

24:45

happen every year since 2020-ish. Is

24:49

there anything you want from the next Summer Game Fest?

24:51

Yeah, there are some small things that I want. But

24:53

of course, big congratulations to Jeff and the team on

24:56

another awesome year and the future of

24:58

doing this one more year. Congratulations

25:01

to him. And also, I want to

25:03

shout out I Am 8-Bit, who does

25:05

the kind of production and helps Jeff

25:07

with the play days. That should definitely

25:09

go recognized, because I know the fans

25:11

don't get to see play days from

25:13

the outside like we get to. But

25:15

they do a hell of a job

25:17

setting this event up. It is really

25:20

awesome. It's beautiful. It's well put together.

25:22

I mean, truly and honestly, shout out

25:24

to them. But yeah, what do

25:26

I want? I think it's

25:28

really cool what Jeff has done

25:30

planting his flag and trying to make

25:32

an E3-esque summer scenario once again,

25:34

where we spotlight awesome games. We do

25:37

showcases. Xbox is there. Of course,

25:39

Ubisoft is there. But they're not his, but

25:41

they're part of the weekend. And I think

25:43

that's really special, that we still have that

25:46

E3 summer weekend as gamers altogether.

25:48

What I would like is a

25:50

little bit more, I guess, summer

25:52

activations. You see now IGN Live doing

25:55

something, which is cool for the fans

25:57

out there. Ubisoft is bringing back their

25:59

theater. the

36:00

color of their dynamic background without altering

36:02

their default profile color. Updated

36:04

Wi-Fi settings means Xbox consoles can now

36:06

remember up to 10 previously

36:08

used networks. That can be switched

36:10

between without re-entering passwords. Let's

36:14

go, Mike. You giggle at that. Let's go, Mike.

36:16

That's a lot of it. I love that. How

36:18

were you taking your Xbox that you need 10

36:20

different Wi-Fi? If you're holding out 10 Wi-Fis, good

36:22

for you. You're taking that Xbox everywhere. Like, just

36:24

stay home. It's wild. That's a lot. That's something

36:26

you would do, Mike. You

36:29

don't remember 10 passwords? Yeah, one or two. Oh, I

36:31

got it. Yeah, where do you got home? I'll tell

36:33

you about it. I got about three. I got three.

36:35

Maybe four if I visited back home home, like back

36:37

home. But like four max. I'll give you four max.

36:40

Yeah, four max, maybe. I'll give you home. I'll

36:42

give you work, I guess, though every person is going to take

36:44

their Xbox to work. But I guess I'll give you work. Yeah,

36:46

yeah. I'll give you your partner's place if you have a partner.

36:48

OK, I like that. And then I'll give you your parents' place.

36:51

Yes, that's what I would say. I'll even give you one friend,

36:54

all right? I'll give you one extra friend. That's five. It's

36:59

amazing. There you go. Because I'll tell you what,

37:01

I'm sick of typing in Wi-Fi passwords, especially for

37:03

me who doesn't remember the Wi-Fi password off the

37:05

top of my head. I have it saved in

37:07

my phone. So then I got to go scroll

37:09

through all my photos to see the screenshot of

37:11

my Wi-Fi password that I saved. I will say,

37:13

the older I get, the more I'm encountering people

37:15

that have crazy Wi-Fi passwords. Crazy. Like where they

37:17

have just the default one. Yeah. And they have

37:19

to be like, oh, what's your password? And they're

37:21

like, oh, let me get the modem. And I'm

37:23

like, get the modem. And I'm like, get the

37:25

modem. And then they show it to me. And

37:27

it's fucking 25 characters. And

37:29

it's all uppercase, lowercase, symbols. And I'm like, what

37:31

are you doing? Make

37:34

your password. Just make it. It's

37:36

the whole thing, Wes. It's the whole thing. God.

37:38

The article continues. The update enables users

37:41

to manage subscriptions directly from the console

37:43

too. Xbox wireless controller

37:45

firmware updates have also been released. Quote,

37:47

if you use the Xbox adaptive controller,

37:49

you'll have expanded support for more connected

37:52

USB accessories, Microsoft said. This

37:54

update will be better. This update will

37:56

better support full functionality of some accessibility

37:59

peripherals. I'm

42:01

like, maybe they just don't like me. Maybe

42:03

nobody wants to respond to my questions. But yeah, like

42:05

that's the thing I've noticed. But maybe it's just me.

42:08

Maybe it's my setup. You check after this update, see

42:10

if it gets a little bit better. We'll see. Try

42:13

that. There's also more here. Starting next week,

42:15

we're also rolling out the ability for you

42:17

to share your PlayStation network profile on any

42:19

messaging or social app. To begin, select share

42:21

profile from PlayStation app or the PS5 console

42:23

to generate a shareable link or QR

42:25

code. When the recipient opens the link, they'll have

42:27

the option to add you as a friend once

42:30

they're signed into the PlayStation network. Nice.

42:33

Some small updates. Sweet. I

42:35

like that. Didn't Sony buy Discord, right? It's

42:37

been so long. It's been like three years. Somebody

42:39

bought Discord, didn't they? I don't think they bought

42:41

Discord, but I think they invested heavily in Discord.

42:43

Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I

42:46

mean, this is great. This is what you want to see. And it's

42:48

on both consoles, right? see. That's

42:51

great. I love this. I love

42:53

to see it. Yeah. Yeah.

42:57

It's finally happening. It's been like three years. Hey, man.

43:00

You know, just for. Hey, man. It's

43:02

a big. It's, you know, it's technically it's advanced. You

43:04

know, you got to make you got to marry these

43:06

things. The PlayStation network, which is all by itself is

43:09

fucking, you know, it's a whole thing. A lot

43:11

of ones and zeros over there and then Discord. A

43:13

lot of ones and zeros over here. And Shatzer might

43:15

like the other guys, partnership and then Xbox got Discord

43:17

integration. Yes. First. Yeah.

43:21

What that happened again. You know, Xbox more of a

43:24

computer is more of a system PC. That's what I

43:26

want to make it. I heard kind of work on

43:28

it was halted when Mark Cerny was adamant about all

43:30

the Discord employees having to send

43:32

him pictures of their ears. Listen,

43:35

all right. PlayStation, they be trying things.

43:37

I need Mark to take a look at my ears.

43:40

What do you think he would say if he looked at your ears? I

43:42

hope he would say they look good, but like, I

43:44

don't know. I've been taking, you know, the Q-tip. Yeah.

43:47

And I wipe the Q-tip. I think I got a scratch on my ear because

43:49

it hurts every time I do the Q-tip over there. I

43:51

like Mark to think. What does that even mean? I

43:55

think it came up and scratched my ear. Like, like, and

43:57

it's been like that for a while. I think it's like.

43:59

It's been a week. I think it just hurts. Oh,

44:02

Mark. I've done that. Mark, if you can take a

44:04

look, let me know. Why do you need Mark Cerny

44:06

to look at your ears? Go to a year's. I

44:08

can't see it. I can't see it. I can't see

44:10

it. There is your there. What, EMTs? There's EMTs out

44:12

there. So let's go to one of them. You

44:14

think Mark Cerny looks at your ear and

44:16

it's like, damn, big, big ears. Big ears.

44:18

Maybe, maybe. If Mark Cerny wanted something smaller,

44:20

though, say the tiniest news. I need to

44:22

know. Oh, my gosh. You go to our

44:24

last story, the WE News Channel, where we

44:27

cover all the small news items you need

44:29

to know about. Door

44:31

number six. It's WE News.

44:33

I tried to do the Tim Gettys thing where he does it

44:35

too smooth. I don't know if it worked, but that was that

44:37

was that was good. That was good. It wasn't as good as Tim's.

44:40

I know Tim is really good at it. He's really good at it.

44:42

He's good. WE News.

44:44

This first one comes from IGN.

44:46

Held Ira's 2s highly anticipated. One

44:48

point 0.4 patch is

44:50

finally here, bringing with it a mass

44:52

of gameplay tweaks, balance, updates

44:54

and fixes to the popular cooperative

44:56

shooter, along with invite only lobby

44:59

creation. And a big change, the

45:01

galactic map. Parasol Stars,

45:03

the story of Bubble Bobble 3 launches

45:05

July 11th on Xbox One, Xbox Series

45:08

X and S PS4, PS5 and Switch.

45:10

Limited Run Game Showcase is set for

45:12

June 20th at 11 a.m. Pacific time.

45:15

Our history untold launches September 24th

45:18

on PC. Also, it's Game Pass

45:20

Day one. Very excited out. And

45:22

then lastly, Super Super Monkey

45:24

Ball, Banana Rumble DLC, Sega Pass

45:27

as Axel from Crazy Taxi.

45:30

Oh, yeah. Wow. Yeah. OK, what a

45:32

crossover. OK, that's cool. That's freaking go.

45:35

Oh, actually, I think we have one more thing for WE News.

45:37

What do we got? Possibly the

45:40

biggest news of all time. Oh, gentlemen. As

45:43

you know. I got a

45:45

son, his name is Ben. That's

45:47

a little guy. That's Ben. As you know, Kevin

45:51

Coelho, expecting a child,

45:53

having a child. Yep. As

45:55

you know. Sarah

45:58

Baum thinks Snowbike Mike has children. We're

46:01

all family. This Sunday

46:03

is Father's Day. Oh. Now

46:05

on behalf of Xbox, I'd like to present Mike with his

46:07

first Father's Day card. What?

46:15

I'm so curious about what's in here. Oh, it's a beautiful

46:17

fish. Just like a dad would? Yeah, it's like a... We

46:23

got a handwritten note in there. Who's

46:25

that from? This

46:27

is from Bond. Sarah Bond. She

46:31

says, P.S. Remind me what their names are again.

46:39

This came from Xbox. Greg's

46:42

nodding, saying, yes, this came from Xbox, Sarah Bond.

46:45

Uh-huh. Is this something you can read out

46:47

loud? There's a lot to this note here.

46:49

There's no greater role a man can play

46:51

than that of a father. Whether it's passing

46:54

on the love of snow sports

46:56

and video games, or installing a

46:58

strong sense of right and wrong

47:00

in their children. Mike, your

47:03

kids are so lucky to have you in their lives.

47:06

Bond, Sarah Bond. That's

47:08

fucking awesome. P.S., please remind me of what their

47:10

names are again. Thanks,

47:13

Sarah Bond and Team Xbox. I appreciate

47:15

you. I got

47:17

a text after Summer Game Fest when the clip went around

47:19

of Mike telling his story, and they were just like, this

47:21

is the talk of the office. We'd like

47:23

to send something. Is that okay? Oh, geez. Shout

47:27

out to Xbox. Also, happy Father's Day, Mike. Happy Father's Day to

47:29

all the dads out there. Congratulations,

47:32

y'all. You're incredible. Thank

47:35

you to everybody out there. Thank you. That's

47:37

amazing. That happened. That's

47:39

incredible. And that's it for Wii News. Oh,

47:41

man. How does it feel to

47:43

know that, like, you are a topic of conversation

47:45

now over at Xbox? I'm just happy that everyone's

47:48

having fun. Great time. I hope

47:50

it also felt good to just get that off your

47:52

chest. You've been holding this for a year. It was

47:54

tough. Well, the first time I looked at it and

47:56

lied to it, that one was tough. Because I walked

47:58

away going, I'm not going to do it. super

52:00

ideal way to play, which is why it's only for one stage.

52:03

Jamie Simmons says, what is the hype level for still

52:06

wakes the deep? Do you

52:08

remember which one is still wakes the deep? Is that

52:10

the one we're on the oil rig and the shark

52:12

and possibly some freaky stuff is going to happen? I

52:14

believe that's the one I was thinking. I

52:17

think it is. No, I think I think you're right. I

52:19

think it is that one low. I

52:23

think I was hoping it would be more

52:25

of a deep blue sea scenario. I think

52:27

it's more of a your mind is going

52:29

to play tricks on you situation. Right. And

52:31

so I maybe you know what I mean?

52:33

I was hoping for something different. Yeah,

52:36

I think the showings for it just haven't

52:38

been the most interesting. I'm looking

52:40

at the dev because I know I believe

52:42

this dev has done stuff we know. Right. Like

52:44

I think there were the they did Dear Esther.

52:46

They did amnesia. Everybody's gone to the rapture. So

52:48

they have a style. They got a pedigree there.

52:51

Yeah, like they have a they have a style

52:53

of game that they make. And I think like

52:55

just based on the pedigree, I would expect this

52:57

to be good. Right. Is that

52:59

drop still wakes the deep drops.

53:03

No way. Is this says June

53:05

18th, 2024? So

53:07

seven days or six days from now. There

53:10

is absolutely no way. Hold on. Hold on. That's from

53:12

the Wikipedia. OK. There is

53:15

absolutely no way. You know what? If I have

53:17

an open slot in my gaming world, I'll give

53:19

you a hard maybe I am on the steam

53:21

page. And the same page also says June 18th,

53:23

2024. Holy shit. OK.

53:27

I am shit. OK. I thought this was

53:29

2025. Oh, really? I

53:32

did not think we were anywhere close to that.

53:34

I was wondering why they were asking about it.

53:36

That's wild. Oh, put it on

53:38

that. Maybe maybe we can have a conversation about it

53:41

on game on a games cast if I play an

53:43

hour or so. I. Oh,

53:46

again, I think I still think. OK, going back

53:48

to my thoughts, though, I don't

53:50

think the showings have been good for it. We've

53:52

seen it in multiple showcases. It's always been the

53:54

thing of watching somebody walk through sort

53:56

of an eerie location. And that's it. We're not. I

53:59

don't think they've given.
