Jacqueline Thomas QC chats with Dr Elisabeth Alton, a named doctor for Adult Safeguarding in East Riding of Yorkshire and safeguarding children in North Lincolnshire. Elisabeth represents named general practitioners in the North East on the national network for adult safeguarding. 

Elisabeth has a particular interest in Mental Capacity work and has recently been invited to sit on the National Mental Capacity Forum Executive Group.

Elisabeth is currently working on a number of projects including the development of a national forensic service within the field of adult safeguarding, the first of it’s kind. Through her work with the frailty service and mental capacity she is involved in care homes and has worked along side them on the frontline during the COVID pandemic.
