Dr. W. Scott Poole is a teacher and author. Currently, he is Professor of history at the College of Charleston, and he teaches and writes about horror and popular culture.Poole's work has appeared in the Washington Post, PopMatters, Jacobin, and People’s World, an has been collected in essay anthologies such as "The Oxford Handbook of Edgar Allan Poe." His first book, "Satan in America: The Devil We Know," was published in 2009. His other books include "Monsters in America" and the biography "Vampira: Dark Goddess of Horror." His fourth book, a biography of H.P.
