Dr. Ellen R. Wald is an energy historian and journalist. Her research focuses on how governments and energy businesses interact globally. Her work examines how policy, wars, diplomacy, the stock market, oil pricing, and innovation impact the future of energy.Wald is the president of Transversal Consulting, an energy consulting firm. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council and a columnist for Arab News.Wald's first book, "Saudi, Inc.," was published in 2018.Wald received her Ph.D. in history from Boston University and her AB in history, Near Eastern studies, and creative writing from Princeton University. She teaches Middle East history and policy.

Dr. Richard L. Sandor is an economist, businessman, and entrepreneur. Currently, he is chairman and CEO of the American Financial Exchange, which is an electronic exchange for direct interbank lending and borrowing. He is known as "the father of financial futures" for his pioneering work in developing the first interest rate futures contract in the 1970s, when he served as chief economist and vice president of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).Sandor is also the founder of the Chicago Climate Exchange, an exchange to facilitate the reduction and trading of greenhouse gases, for which he was named "the father of carbon trading" by Time Magazine.Sandor is currently a Lecturer in Law and Economics at the University of Chicago Law School and an honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong and the School of Economics at Fudan University. He has taught at several universities throughout California, Illinois, New York, China and England.Sandor's first book, "Good Derivatives: A Story of Financial and Environmental Innovation," was published in 2012.Sandor received his B.A. from the City University of New York Brooklyn College, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
