Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.After graduating from law school, Ginsburg clerked for Judge Palmieri. She then taught civil procdeure as a professor at Rutgers Law School and Columbia Law School. She was a volunteer attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, and co-founded its Women's Rights Project. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, where she served until her appointment to the Supreme Court in 1993.Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, New York. She received her B.A. in Government from Cornell University, and attended Harvard Law School before transferring to Columbia Law School, from which she graduated.
