Jamilah Lemieux is a columnist, cultural critic, and editor who focuses on issues of race, gender, and sexuality. Currently, she writes for Slate magazine's "Care and Feeding" section and co-hosts its weekly parenting podcast, "Mom and Dad Are Fighting."Prior to coming to Slate, Lemieux was the vice president of news and men's programming for Interactive One, part of Radio One, Inc.After university, Lemieux began writing, on her blog "The Beautiful Struggler" and articles for publication. She became the news and lifestyle editor for Ebony.com, was promoted to senior editor, then to senior editor for the print magazine.Lemieux's work has appeared in Mic, Essence, The Nation, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Guardian, and Gawker.Lemieux has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and ABC, and she has been a guest on Comedy Central's The Nightly Show, MTV2's Uncommon Sense, Vice's Desus & Mero, as well as Revolt/Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.Jamilah Lemieux was born in Chicago.
