James Robison is a televangelist. With his wife, he hosts a daily TV program, "LIFE Today", which airs all around the world.Robison was raised in Pasadena TX by a local pastor and his wife, who introduced him to born again Christianity. He married his high school sweetheart Betty when they were both 19. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, they started their television ministry together, with the help of Rev. Dr. Billy Graham.In 1979, Robison lost his slot on a TV station in Dallas for preaching against homosexuality. In protest, he organized a "Freedom Rally" in Dallas, which has been credited for beginning the "moral majority" movement of the 1980s.Robison went on to become a popular conservative religious leader with political influence. In the 1980s he refocused his attention on his ministry. In 2010, he started re-engaging in American politics.
