F. Gregory Gause III is a Professor and Department Head of International Affairs at the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on the politics of the Middle East, with a particular interest in the Arabian Peninsula and the Persian Gulf. He has written on the domestic politics of the Gulf monarchies, oil and politics, alliances and war decisions in the Middle East, and American foreign policy in the region.Gause's articles have appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Security Studies, Middle East Journal, and The National Interest, and other journals and edited volumes. His first book, "Saudi-Yemeni Relations: Domestic Structures and Foreign Influence," was published in 1990. He has published three books, the most recent of which is "The International Relations of the Persian Gulf," which was published in 2010.Gause has testified on Persian Gulf issues before the Committee on International Relations of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.Gause received his A.B. in Politics from Saint Joseph University in Beirut and his Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University.
